The Volkswagen Group, started in the 1930s, produces nine brands of vehicles. The company, headquartered in Germany, is the largest carmaker in Europe and in 2009 produced over 11 percent of the world's passenger cars. Volkswagen literally means the "people's car" in German, and many people are enthusiastic owners. There are several VW clubs throughout Wisconsin.

  1. Chippewa Valley Volkswagen Club

    • Chippewa Valley Volkswagen Club (CVVC) holds one of the largest VW car shows in Wisconsin. Since 1999, the two-day family event has taken place yearly in June. It features a car show with awards, cruise, cookout, swap meet, activities and games for all ages, door prizes, coloring contest and camping on the show grounds. CVVC calls western Wisconsin home, but members live throughout the state. The annual membership fee goes toward insurance for the annual show and monthly newsletter. Members meet monthly, have occasional parties and help each other with personal VW projects. The CVVC aims to share the enjoyment and fellowship of VW owners and enthusiasts, and to act as a source of information and assistance for VW owners.
